We had 9 people and made a reservation. We called and confirmed the reservation earlier that day, but when we got there we still waited 40 min for a table and had others who were walk-ins get seated before us. If you go request Elvis if you want a fun and engaging time. He was serving the table across from us. Our hibachi chef was very kind and handled my allergy very well, but he was very quiet and didn’t try to have people catch food in their mouth like other chefs I saw. If you have a dairy-allergy, they accommodated it well, but I would recommend having your server put the order in for the back kitchen when you order, as they waited till the hibachi chef asked the back and I got my food at the time the rest of my party was finishing theirs. Overall it was a good place and good experience! My niece had never been so it was very exciting for her. But I was left a little disappointed regarding the wait for the table and the quietness of our chef.

I had a decent experience at Osaka. If you are coming for the hibachi show, the chefs are fantastic—very energetic, skilled, and great at keeping the table entertained. It’s definitely a solid choice for a birthday or a group celebration in Tallahassee. The food itself was a bit of a mixed bag. The Hibachi Steak and Shrimp were seasoned well, and the fried rice is always a highlight. I also tried the Tallahassee Roll, which was fresh and well-made. However, the prices have definitely gone up recently, and for the total bill, I expected the quality of the meat to be a bit higher. The atmosphere is nice, but it can get very loud and crowded on the weekends, making it hard to have a conversation. Service was friendly but felt a little rushed once the cooking show was over. Pros: Fun hibachi experience, great sushi variety, good for groups. Cons: High price point for the portion sizes, can be noisy, long wait times without a reservation

My wife and I went to Osaka Tallahassee for lunch. I didn’t know what to expect as I have not been to the restaurant before. The place wasn’t very busy and I wondered why because it certainly is nice enough that the place should be full at lunch time. The waiter gave us our drinks and then there was a long wait before he returned to get our orders. Our waiter wasn’t very patient with me as I struggled to answer his questions about how I wanted my food, at one point he even looked at his watch. I thought that to be rude. The host sat in a room that wasn’t being used at that time and played on his phone rather than check on the customers. When I went to the restroom I found it definitely very clean, but as I returned to my table I passed our waiter who passed in the opposite direction and he never acknowledged me with a smile or a simple hello. I had the lunch box which was ok at best. The restaurant is pretty but not warm and welcoming. I found the prices to be fair. The staff all seem to be doing their own thing instead of tending to the business of hospitality.

We had an awful experience with the manager Jeff. Our waitress was doing everything she could to assist. We watched this manager badger and belittle and harass, not only our waitress but another woman in our party. We watched this manager corner our very young waitress until she was in tears due to a simple mix up to no fault of hers. Even after she attempted to calm herself before she returned to our table he consistently cornered her and continued to verbally harass her. You could tell baby girl needs her job and this Jeff guy shouldn’t be anyone’s manager. He was extremely rude to one of our guest and even threatened to kick her out due to a mixup with menu items, told her if she stayed she wouldn’t be served, sent some little bald muscle guy over to our table to also threaten one of our guest. We ultimately had to let him know if she left we would all leave without payment and appetizers on the table. we had a party of 8 spending at minimum 50 per person and gratuity. Luckily our chef and waitress were great but this manager really distracted from what was supposed to be an amazing birthday experience for our friend. They will never see another dollar of my money as long as he’

We (me, my Wife, and our young baby) came on my birthday and really enjoyed it. We came in early aroumd 5:30 because we didnt want there to be too much noise for our baby, and I'm glad we did because it was super busy by the time we left. Food was great, our chef was fun and engaging. We had soup and a roll (can't remember which one) and shared the steak (filet) & shrimp for 2. So delicious!! Great choice for an early birthday dinner!
